Many clubs and societies are active within Silkstone and Silkstone Common with interests ranging from history to horticulture. Old Silkstone Brass Band has achieved success at national level. The two villages also have thriving Scouts, exercise classes, craft classes, a Twinning Association, conservation societies and organisations devoted to mothers and toddlers.
